Copied from an original found on the field at Gettysburg, this pouch is quite unique. It was made from high grade leather, had no wool inside, a brass finial and featured 12 stitches per inch around the perimeter.

Arsenal Cap Pouch

Probably an early war pouch produced by Watervliet. This pouch is stamped with a "US" and has a smaller finial than later pouches. It is constructed of light weight leather and features 10 stitches per inch. There are no rivets on the belt loops.

P.Jewell contract cap pouch-
62 contract (Jewell also had a small contract in Sept 61) probably of this pattern This pouch is maker marked and included US stamp on outer body. Smaller rivets than latter contracts were used. These were among some of the earliest contracts that included rivets on belt loops. This pouch is copied from an original in the LD Haning Collection
